Obituary of Robert H. Winchek

Robert Winchek November 15, 2016 Robert Winchek, better known to his family and friends as Bobby, Winnie, or "The Legend" passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Bobby attended Assumption Catholic Academy where he graduated as an All Star Athlete in 1972. Following High School Bobby continued his love of baseball playing in and around Upstate NY and Florida. He was a passionate sports enthusiast and enjoyed golf, umpiring & refereeing throughout the Syracuse area and in more recent years volunteer coaching for his grandson Isaiah at Lyncourt Youth Recreational Basketball. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. As a loving husband and devoted father Bob leaves behind his wife of 37 years Carol; daughters Monet (Jason) Hollister, Katie Winchek; grandchildren Isaiah, Amya, Jacob and Jared; a brother Edward Winchek and a sister Patricia (James) Mersfelder; aunts Bea Thomas and Patricia Reynolds; several cousins, brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thank you to his caring nurse Tiffany. Services will be private. Burial will be at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
