Obituary of C. Laura Doherty

C. Laura (Crombie) Doherty, 79, died on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Central Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Syracuse, NY. She was born in Boston, MA; daughter of the late William R. and Elizabeth A. Hines Crombie. She worked as an executive secretary for several companies and retired from Quad 3, an architect and engineering firm, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was a kind, passionate, warmhearted woman who was always helping others through her involvement with her church and community groups. She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and sharing her words of wisdom to help deal with life's ups and downs. She was predeceased by her husband, David E. Doherty. She is survived by her daughter: Elizabeth Orban of Orchard Park, NY; sons: David P. (Christine) of Syracuse, Matthew (Luke Bruffee) of Boston, MA; sister: Barbara (Francis) Jacques; brother: Warren (Lynn) Crombie; 3 grandchildren: Stephen (Meghan) Orban, Matthew Orban and Emily Doherty; 2 great grandchildren: Harper and Finley Orban; and several nieces and nephews. Her smile that lit up the room and her genuine love and counseling will be greatly missed by her family and friends but she will always be in their hearts and minds.
