Jane Malkoske,85 of Eastwood passed away Thursday at James Square with her family by her side. She was born on March 29, 1927 in Ogdensburg, NY the daughter of the late Timothy and Eva Hawes O'Leary. Jane attended St. Mary's Academy in Ogdensburg. She worked for NYTEL where she met her husband John and they were married on June 7, 1958 in St. Mary's Cathedral. They moved to Syracuse where they raised their 6 children. Jane later worked for Christ the King Retreat House. She was very devoted to her faith and was a communicant of Transfiguration Church. Jane was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and taught religious education classes. She enjoyed playing the piano. She was a wonderful, wife, mother and grandmother. Predeceased by her son-in-law, Sam Marsella. Survived by her loving husband of 54 years John Malkoske; her children: Mary Marsella, Teresa (Richard) Arrigo, Margaret (David) Soderquist, John (Rika) Malkoske II, Annie (Robert) Larosche and Christine Malkoske; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Funeral services are 9am Tuesday at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in Transfiguration Church. Burial will be in the spring in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ogdensburg. Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. Jane's family would like to thank the Staff of James Square for their exceptional care.
