Albert Hanlon Originally from Islip Long Island: so sorry & shocking to hear about Danny. We hung out in Junior and senior high school. We then went to university of Miami for a year. The most memorable time, while Danny & I were spear fishing for food, we saw what we thought was a dark log But it was. Barracuda. So many stories, so many adventures.

Wow, I am just feeling an awful lot of feelings. I remember our dinners together and sharing such laughter and going to the creek, and slumber party. Big dog will be missed. My heart is breaking for you

Dan and I were administrators for OCM BOCES in Cortland during some of the same years -- he in occupational high school education and I in adult education. He was a joy to have as a colleague. We had some wide-ranging talks and I came away admiring Dan's fierce pride in his family; his deep caring for the students and staff he was trying to serve; and his remarkable curiosity about the world. He had a sense of wonder about makes up our lives that is rare. He knew that he was blessed in many ways, and all of us who knew him as a friend were blessed as well. Bob Davis.

Our deepest sympathy to Dan's family. So sorry for your loss. We too will miss Dan as a neighbor and friend. Living on Wellesley Rd we have shared a lot. All those years we raised our children together- supervising backyard play time. We always enjoyed a chat with Dan at social events, around the neighborhood, at Wegmans, or an estate sale. He wanted to know about us, our boys, and even details about our new car. Sorry that we took for granted that he would always be across the street and part of the neighborhood. Now when we look over at the DeBona's house we have nice memories but are sad that Dan is no longer there.

Lisa, Danny and Mariah,
I was shocked and sad to learn that Dan had passed. To me, he was bigger than life and so big and strong. He was the person that gave me my start in education by hiring me as a teacher when he ran the Alternative Programs at OCM BOCES. He was always friendly, had a great smile on his face, and treated everyone like family. He was someone that I respected and looked up to as a person and educator. The world is a worse place for losing him but heaven just got better. God Bless.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Dan. I am so sorry. I enjoyed working with him and I am so glad he retired early enough to enjoy his retirement. He always had a smile and a story to share with people. Remember all the good times you had with him.
Peace be with you and your family.

Ruthie and I are so shocked to hear of his passing. 73 is young. We both are glad he had several years of quality retired time to do what he loved. When working our Friday afternoon talks were always about the kids and family. He was a class act and a friend to us.
