Obituary of Gloria J. Sgroi

Gloria Sgroi, 93 beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at St. Camillus Sunday with her family by her side. 
She is predeceased by her sisters Sally and Jean, and her husband, Louis who died in 2009. She is survived by her brother, Jack York (Barbara) of Mexico, NY. She is survived by her daughters: Linda Sgroi (Marie McCarthy) of Syracuse, NY, Gloria Hoover (Paul) of Midland, NC and her son, Louis Sgroi (Jerry Gardner) of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Dina Butler of NC, Kristine Rinaldi (Robert Travers), Syracuse, NY, Kerry White (Kevin) East Syracuse, NY and 3 great grandchildren: Hailey Rinaldi and Emily Rinaldi of Syracuse, NY and Jacob White of East Syracuse.
Mom never ventured far from her home, enjoyed visiting with the neighbors including special friends, Danielle and Jesse, and became the grand dame of the neighborhood. She had a quick wit and a great gift of gab. Her beautiful, thick white hair was admired by all who met her and was her crowning glory. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and delighted in doing the very hard ones, enjoyed reading, loved gardening and thought it was very spiritual but most of all, she loved her home & family more than anything else. At her request , there will be no services. 
The family would like to extend it's heartfelt appreciation to the staff at St. Camillus for their compassionate care especially to Maxine Phipps, social worker, Elizabeth Ranger, nurse, Kelly Hatfield CNA, and too many more to mention.
