Obituary of Eugene G. Klingbeil

Eugene (Gene) G Klingbeil, 88, of Pompey, NY passed away peacefully on November 19, 2021 at his home after a courageous battle with Parkinson disease.
Gene was predeceased by parents: Leonard and Elsie Klingbeil; siblings: Ken, Mary, Larry, Dennis, Carol, Betty and Ronald; and daughter Jodi Emond.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Arlene Hayter; grandsons: Kevin and Jordan Emond; great-grandson: Archer Emond; and daughter Jana Klingbeil. Special thanks to Nancy Bobbett, long term care provider, and Sean Murphy FNP, of Hope Mobile NP. 
Born and raised in South Dakota, only leaving to join the Army in the early 50's. He completed his basic training and service at Fort Bragg, NC with an honorable discharge from the Helicopter Training Program in 1956.
Upon his discharge, he settled in Syracuse, NY holding various jobs, while pursuing welding and business, which lead to the purchase and profitable sale of a dry cleaner business. In 1971, his next endeavor was owning and building a successful engineering, custom steel fabrication and installation company called Technical Erectors, Inc. His work can be found in many local and national industries. 
Gene had many other interests. His life long love of boating and fishing led to spending much time on local lakes, the St. Lawrence river and the Caribbean. Being a certified scuba diver and charter member of the Onondaga County Syracuse Scuba Society, he recovered many underwater artifacts through out the years. He was an avid skier, chef, gardener and wild life enthusiast. Services are private with no calling hours.
