Obituary of Mildred D. Hagan

Please share a memory of Mildred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mildred Duso Hagan, 91, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2022. Millie was born and raised in Jericho, in the town of Altona, Northern New York. The only daughter of Charles and Julia Anna Duso, she began her career working for New York Telephone and subsequently moved to Syracuse. She retired from AT&T after decades of service. Millie enjoyed spending summers on the St. Lawrence River and winters in Florida. She had an adventurous spirit and was passionate about traveling. She delighted in playing cards and bingo, doing puzzles, gardening, and cooking. Over the years, she became especially fond of critiquing restaurants. She was devoted to her faith and her family, making frequent trips from Alexandria Bay to visit her grandsons. She was an independent woman, who raised two exemplary sons on her own.
Millie is predeceased by her brother Joseph and sister-in-law Regina Duso, grandson Jonathan LaPierre, and sister-in-law Debi Duso. She is survived by Dale and Cindy LaPierre, Kevin and Michele LaPierre, her brother and sister-in-law Donald and Janice Duso, brother Carl Duso, grandsons Nathan (Chelsea), Ryan (Megan Powell), Collin, great granddaughter Genevieve, and several nieces. She also leaves behind her cousin Nancy Stanczyk, who was a devoted friend these many years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Menorah Park for the care they provided.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, between 9-10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James Street, Syracuse, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated directly afterwards, at 10 a.m. A graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
