Obituary of Charles K. Pontius

Charles “Chuck” Pontius, 57, of East Syracuse died at home after a long illness on December 11, 2022 surrounded by his family. He had worked for the Town of Dewitt Highway Department for 20+ years.  He was an avid fan of the Steelers, Mets and SU sports teams.  He is pre-deceased by his father Richard.
He is survived by his daughter Mary Louise Pontius; mother Jeannette Brunell Pontius; brothers: Dick (Kathy), Bob, John (Betsy), Jim, Peter (Missy); sisters:  Karen (Vince) Filapello, Michelle (Tom) Brewster and Ruth (Pat) Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.  
Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson funeral home with a service at the conclusion.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY.
