Obituary of Chidori Colucci
Chidori Kusaka Colucci passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2024.
Born in Japan to Tsumoru and Aiko Kusaka, Chidori emigrated to the United States in 1982. She worked at Kyoto's Restaurant, and later joined her husband at Colboy's Jewelry, using her exceptional talent to create hundreds of beautiful pearl and bead pieces. Chidori also received an Associate's Degree from Onondaga Community College and a BA from SUNY Empire State College.
Chidori's kindness was unmatched. Always positive, her warm smile and willingness to help endeared her to everyone. Her delightful laugh brought joy and comfort to all who knew her. And we can't forget her masterful organizational skills, bringing order to the constant stream of "stuff" that seemed to enter her home.
Predeceased by her parents and her husband, Clem Colucci Jr.; Chidori is survived by her sister, Ayame Meno; her son, Edward; grandchildren Fabio and Apollo Marcoccia; her longtime companion, Al Tofani; and many step-children and step-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her deeply. Her legacy of love will forever remain in our hearts.
Calling hours will be held at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 26, from 4-6:30pm with a service at the conclusion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Meals on Wheels of Syracuse, 300 Burt Street, Syracuse 13202.
