Elizabeth "Bette" Budd Johnstone, 92, of Syracuse, died on Friday at Loretto. She was born in Theresa, NY, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Albert E. Budd. She was a graduate of Black River HighSchool in Black River, NY and received a degree in music education from Syracuse University, College of Fine Arts. She taught music in the East Syracuse-Minoa school system for 22 years. Elizabeth and her husband of 54 years, Bruce, were members of the Dewitt Community Church.
Elizabeth is survived by her 3 sons: Bruce E. (Barbara) Johnstone Jr. of Syracuse, Christopher L. (Patti) Johnstone of Cicero, Gregory P. (Sandra) Johnstone of Ballston Spa, NY; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00pm at the Welter-Price Funeral Home, 3111 James Street. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Contributions may be made to the Dewitt Community Church, 3600 Erie Boulevard East, Dewitt 13214.
