Anne Ventre February 16, 2014 Anne Ventre, 87, lifelong resident of the Syracuse north side passed away peacefully at James Square on Saturday, February 15, 2014. A graduate of North High School, Anne worked at First Trust Bank for several years before becoming a full-time wife and mother. Her family will always remember the tradition of Sunday dinners especially her homemade lasagna and meatballs. Anne was a talented seamstress sewing clothes for her children, draperies for her home, and upholstering her favorite furniture. She loved bargain hunting with her husband at Syracuse China, bus trips with the Lyncourt seniors, and more than the occasional trip to the Turning Stone. She once took a very memorable trip with her daughters to Boston with her winnings and always kept a close eye on the neighborhood from her front door window. Survivors: Her husband of 66 years, Frank; daughters, Donna (John) Pellenz; Susan (Paul) Modafferi; Lisa Ventre; Perri (Rick) Hurd; son, Frank (Michelle Stopher); grandchildren, Richard Elderbroom; Jeff (Lauren) Pellenz; David Pellenz, Sabrina Ventre, Rachel Alibrandi, Andrew and Jon Hurd; great-grandchild, Wesley Elberbroom; brothers Richard Cappotto; and Joseph (Waneta) Cappotto and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call between 3 and 6 pm on Wednesday, February 19th at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street, Syracuse, NY. Services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Thursday, February 20th, 2014 at 10:30 am. Burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. The Ventre family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff on D-South at James Square and the residence and staff at the Hearth on James for their care and compassion for our entire family.
