Barbara Wesnesky, 95, of Syracuse, died on Tuesday at James Square. She was born in Throop, PA and had formerly worked as a hairdresser. Mrs. Wesnesky was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and she volunteered as a care giver and would visit the sick members of the parish. She is also the past president of the Polish American Women Citizens Club. Her family was her life and she was kind and loving to everyone. Her husband Charles "Jay" Wesnesky died in 1981.
Mrs. Wesnesky is survived by her daughter Paula (Donald) Grant of Syracuse; grandchildren: Todd, Donald J. "D.J." & Lindsay Grant, and Jillian Grant-Hildebrand; great-grandchildren Tyler & Joseph Grant, Arielle Hildebrand; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are Saturday at 8:30 at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 9am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum.
Calling hours are Friday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament School Support a Child Program.
