Louise Mary McGill Brackett passed on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. A native of New Hampshire Louise was a New Englander through and through which included her favorite meal lobster and scallops. She lived with her daughter Caroline in Dewitt, NY for the past 3 years.
Louise was an avid swimmer throughout her life preferring a long swim in a lake to any other. Playing bridge and antiquing gave her tremendous joy. She was a patron of the performing arts; traveling the world to hear opera seeing one of the greatest in front of the pyramids in Egypt.
Louise graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University with a degree in nursing following in her family tradition of medicine. She is survived by her 89 year old sister Maureen of Greenland, NH, three children Jonathan, Jennifer, and Caroline and three grandchildren Nicole, Tahjmier, and Aidan.
A celebration of her life will be held at her home in Dewitt on Saturday, January 24, from 2-4:00, children are welcome.
