Drusilla Y. Frateschi, 79, died suddenly on Monday, April 27th, at home. She was born April 21, 1936, in Schenectady, NY, daughter of Stephen Layman, Sr and Lydia D. Mattice. Mrs. Frateschi was a graduate of Oneonta High School in Oneonta, NY and earned an AAS in Family and Community Services at University College of Syracuse University. Besides spending time with her family, Drusilla enjoyed reading, quilting, and other crafts and spending time with her good friends at Bishop Harrison Senior Apts. Surviving are her husband Robert W. Frateschi,Sr., a son Robert W. Jr, of Syracuse, a daughter Nora Miller (Newton) of Carthage, NY; 4 grandchildren: Robert K, Liana L, Blake E and Courtney A.E.; two brothers: Stephen Layman, Jr and Manley Layman; and 1 sister Mabel Page; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son David A. Frateschi; three sisters: Marion Ruth Tompkins, Ethel McCall, Nellie Virginia Wentzel; 2 brothers: Lincoln George and Alfred Stephen. Calling hours will be held 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral service will be will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by graveside services in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery with Dr Thomas A. Sherwood officiating.
