Obituary of Jorge-Luis B. Romeu

Jorge-Luis B. Romeu August 28, 2015 Jorge-Luis B. Romeu, 44, died on August 28, 2015 in Melbourne, Florida, after a battle with cancer. He was a native of Cuba and emigrated to Syracuse with his family in 1980, where he resided until 2014. He graduated from St. Vincent dePaul and Henninger High School, and received an Electronics Engineering degree from the University of Buffalo and Masters in Engineering from Syracuse University. He was employed by Rockwell Collins in Melbourne, and had formerly worked at Carrier Corporation and Lockheed Martin in Syracuse, and in Corning. Jorge-Luis was a communicant of St. Vincent dePaul Church and enjoyed boating. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Iris (Hartan) Romeu; his parents: Jorge L. and Zoila Romeu of Syracuse; his son Jorge-Luis H. Romeu of Melbourne; brothers: Ricardo (Wendy) of Melbourne, Rafael (Larissa) of Washington, DC; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 24 at 10am in St. Vincent dePaul Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Church, 342 Vine Street, Syracuse 13203.
