Obituary of John T. Murphy

John T. Murphy October 14, 2015 John T. Murphy, 89, of East Syracuse, died on Wednesday at Loretto. He was a graduate of CBA, attended St. Bonaventure College, was a veteran of WWII and served with the Navy Seabees. Mr. Murphy had retired from Presto Lite in 1988 after 37 years of service. He was a communicant, usher and volunteer at St. Matthew’s Church. He was a member of the East Syracuse Seniors and a lifetime member of the Pastimes Athletic Club, where he was a member of their Bowling, Golf and Pitch Leagues. His wife of 56 years, Mary Louise “Lou”, died in 2011. He is survived by his son Daniel J. (Angela) Murphy; daughter Sharon M. (James) Ross; grandchildren: Alina and Conrad Murphy. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Loretto, especially Sandy and David, for their kindness, love, and support. It shall always be remembered. Services were private at the Welter-Price Funeral Home and in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels.
