Donald F. Haag, 98, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Thursday at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was pre-deceased by his wife Rita; parents Frederick and Elizabeth Haag; and brothers: Emerson and Norman Haag.
Don had served in the US Army during WWII. He retired as a group leader and set up man at Prestolite after 47 years. He is a lifetime member of the Pastimes Club, former member of the Syracuse Turners and enjoyed trout fishing, golfing and bowling.
He is survived by his son Donald Jr. (Judy); grandchildren Candice (Michael) Hinman, Christine (Peter) LoBello, David Haag; his precious great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Samantha LoBello, Alex Hinman; a brother-in-law Charles Salvetti; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11am in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation.
