Obituary of Virginia C. Lukasiewicz

Virginia "Ginny" Lukasiewicz, 84, of Mattydale, NY died Tuesday from complications due to congestive heart failure. She was born in Syracuse and was the daughter of the late Alexander Blazak and Ceceila Kaljeskie. She was a communicant at St. Margaret's Church for over 30 years and more recently at St. Rose of Lima. She was a Government accountant at General Electric for 18 years. She then retired to care for her family. In her spare time, she was co-owner of G & J Ceramics (an "at-home" business) and led a Girl Scout Troop. She enjoyed fishing at her camp in Chippewa Bay and cooking exquisite meals for her friends and family. In her later years, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of being a cashier by working at Wal-Mart and being a grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, KarAn Lukasiewicz-Holtham, her grandson, Jake Holtham, her son-in-law, Greg Holtham and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joseph Lukasiewicz. Ginny gave unconditional love to all the lives she touched and will be deeply and strongly missed. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at Welter-Price Funeral Home; 3111 James Street, Syracuse. The Mass will be held Saturday at 10 am at St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse with the interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Geddes.
