Obituary of Lucia (Lucy) Rautenberg

Lucia “Lucy” (nee Fagliarone) Rautenberg, 86, of North Syracuse, passed away on Sunday at University Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devoted member of Saint Stephen Lutheran Church, and enjoyed working for the Onondaga County Board of Elections and retired from P & C. Lucy loved caring for her grandchildren and enjoyed doing crafts and her jumble puzzles and cooking, especially making pizza fritte on New Year’s Eve. She was pre-deceased by her parents: Vittoria & Vincenzo Fagliarone, and her brother James Fagliarone. She is survived by her former husband Gustav Rautenberg; her sons: Gary (Phyllis) Rautenberg, David Rautenberg; daughters: Karen Rautenberg; Lynn (Chris) Harrington; Ruth (Robert) Kirk, Diane Rautenberg; grandchildren: Eric Rautenberg, Kelly Harrington, Serena Harrington, Alexi Harrington, and Evan C. Kirk; siblings: Carmela Fagliarone, Mary Chiarello, Robert Fagliarone, Barbara Moleski; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12:00pm at the Frasier-Shepardson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 10:00-12:00am at the Funeral Home, 1217 N. Salina Street. Everyone agreed with Evan’s statement that, “Lucy brought joy to everyone.” Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
