Obituary of Rose K. Cresce

Rose Katherine Cardone Cresce, 94 of Eastwood, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 15, 2017. She was born in Syracuse on August 7, 1922, the daughter of Michael Cardone and Rose DeMento. Throughout her life she worked for several small companies as well as Syracuse China and Bristol Meyers until her retirement. She is a lifelong communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parrish and the Altar Rosary Society. She loved to travel with her husband Joe, through Europe, The Holy Land, Hawaii and Las Vegas. After retirement they considered themselves “Snowbirds” spending the winters in Bradenton, the Florida Keys and Key West, Fl. She enjoyed tending her garden, growing vegetables, gladiolas, and her namesake roses. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph, of 62 years, grandson Nicholas Vecchiarelli and sisters Ida Carulli, Josephine Killian, Fran Salce, Carmela (Amy) Gonzalez, Florence Zohler and brother Joseph Cardone. Surviving are her son Paul (Maritza) of Merritt Island, Florida; daughter Patricia (Albert) Vecchiarellli of Kirkville; grandchildren Joseph (Jennifer) Cresce; Dominic Cresce; Pamela (Brandon) Pelkey and five great grandchildren; Andrew, Kevin and Isabella Pelkey; Alexander and Nathaniel Vechhiarelli. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19th at 10:15 at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, and at 10:30 in Blessed Sacrament Church in Eastwood, followed by burial in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 9:15-10:15 at the funeral home before the services.
