Dorothy J. (Fedora) Bender, 93, of Eastwood, died on Monday at Van Duyn. Prior to volunteering at the Ida Benderson Center and the Eastwood Senior Center, she worked at Dietz Lantern, Killian Manufacturing and Anaren Microwave. She was predeceased by her husband: Arthur W. Bender in 1987, her parents Dominick and Vivian Fedora, brothers: Thomas Fedora (in Viet Nam), Anthony and Samuel Fedora, a sister Mary O'Donnell.
She is survived by 2 sons: Arthur Jr. (Catherine) of Syracuse and Gerald of Florida; a daughter: Karen Bender of Syracuse; sister: Marianne Carlucci of Syracuse; granddaughter Rachel Bender.
Services are Monday, February 20 at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home 3111 James Street with interment to follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum. Calling hours are 10:30am – 1pm with a brief service following.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
