I was just sent Barbara's obit in a text. I am overwhelmed with sadness.
She was 24 when I walked into my sophomore homeroom. Her smile, giggle and attempt at a serious tone commanded our respect.
I enjoyed yearbook, missionclub trips and her support of my athletic career through college.
She instilled a passion for teaching in me.
Barbara had a kindness that filled my soul. She was a spiritual guidance through my high school and college life.
My condolences to her family. I loved her.

I would just like to say I am very sorry to hear the passing of Barb, or as I knew her Miss Dillon. Miss Dillon was one of my favorite teachers in high school and I still talk about how she instilled in me the love for reading classics and most of all my favorite, The Dead Poet Society. She will be truly missed.
Much Love,
A former Student.
P.s. For a bit of comic relief in such a sad time, I am hoping Miss Dillon is not reading this and grading my grammar. I am positive my score would be atrocious.

My condolences to everyone in the Dillon family. I was a colleague of Barb's both at Franciscan Academy and Bishop Grimes. Barb was a wonderful person to work with-articulate, kind, and really enjoyed her students. I think of her often and how much fun we had teaching. She will be missed!

September 8, 1968...St. Joseph Provincial House, Latham,N Y.; that's when I first met Barb as we both became postulants in the Sisters of St.Joseph. I remember her smile, her laugh, and her love of literature. She was sister to me then and even though the years have passed without being in touch, she is still sister to me with many treasured memories.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Sincerely, MaryAnn Dignazio Louison

So sorry for your loss. I'll always fondly remember Ms. Dillon's English class and her passion to teach. What sticks out most was the picture she showed of Robert Frosts' grave and how the rain and mud were not cooperating. Rest in peace.
