Obituary of Gertrude Charlotte White

White, Gertrude Charlotte "Trudy" (Ayre), age 89, formerly of Tunkhannock, PA passed away Friday, May 18, 2018. Trudy was a Nursery School Teacher at Eastwood Baptist Church for 25 years. She was an active member of Eastwood Baptist Church and Bona Dea Women's Circle. Trudy served on the Education Commission of Eastwood Baptist Church and volunteered on many committees and events. Trudy's talents and gifts were many. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and community volunteer and friend. She was always available to drive friends to appointments or spend time in quiet conversation. Trudy enjoyed camping at Pathfinder Lodge Baptist Camp for many years, Rideau Acres Campground in Kingston Ontario Canada and finally at Duck Lake Campground, Red Creek, New York. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 70 years, Charles L.; daughter, Deborah L. and her husband, Robert (Bob); son, Charles (Chuck) (Erin DelBuono); granddaughters, Olivia and Marissa; grandson Andrew (Andy); great-grandson Andrew; sister, Gladys Ayre; sister-in-law, Ellen Byle and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call at the Eastwood Baptist Church Thursday from 4 to 6 PM. Funeral Services will follow at 6 PM, 3212 James Street, Syracuse NY 13206.
