Obituary of Santa Abbadi

Santa Abbadi, 98, of Syracuse, died on Monday at her home.  She was a born in Italy and moved to the United States when she was 4 months old.   She was a graduate of Assumption High School and Powelson Business School.   She was employed by New Process Gear and Dairylea.  She was married in 1949 in St. Peter’s Basilica in Italy.  She was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei Church.
Santa was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.  Her greatest joy was taking care of her family.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing.  Santa could always be found in the kitchen cooking for family and friends.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Giuseppe (Joe) and parents John and Providenca Bombara.
Mrs. Abbadi is survived by 3 daughters: Susan (George) Given, Prudence Abbadi, Frances (Robert) Kribs; grandchildren: Robert (Clara), Joseph & David (Tiffany) Kribs, Rachael (Nate) Given; 4 great grandchildren: Julian, Alexander, Kinsley and Makena Kribs; and nieces and cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday at 9:30 at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson funeral home and at 10am in Our Lady of Pompei Church.  Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.  Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 3111 James St.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY or St. Jude’s Hospital.
