Obituary of Anne E Buske

Anne Worboys Buske, born October 22, 1939, in Syracuse, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2010, after a brief struggle with cancer. Anne was a longtime resident of Syracuse but had recently relocated to Arlington, MA, to be closer to family after her husband of 40 years, Neil T. Buske, passed away in April 2009. Anne is survived by her devoted daughters, Dana Buske of Arlington, MA, and Rachel Buske of Washington DC; son-in-law, Michael Schneider of Arlington, MA; two adoring grandchildren, Benjamin and Clara; a brother, Carl "Mac" Worboys of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; her sister, Carol Johnson; her brother, Roger Worboys; and her parents, Carl and Dorothy (Susie) Worboys. Anne had a bachelor's degree in political science from Sweet Briar College in Virginia and an MA from Syracuse University. Anne worked as an economist after school but stopped working outside the home when her daughters were born. She was a dedicated volunteer for many organizations, including the Girl Scouts, Syracuse City Schools and her daughters' activities. Until recently, Anne also worked at Cashel House and was a member of the Fayetteville Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, needlepoint, and spending time with family. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
