Janet Caroline Smolen, 88, died on Saturday at Loretto. She had worked at Killian Manufacturing and was a communicant of Transfiguration Church. She was pre-deceased by her parents Francis and Lillian Stevens Schmidt, son Gary, daughter Donna Smith, her husband Walter, grandson Jason Donitzen, brother Richard Schmidt and sister-in-law Mary Schmidt.
Survived by a son James E. (Sandra) Smolen of North Syracuse; daughter-in-law Nancy Smolen; brother Walter (Veronica) Schmidt; grandchildren Jessica Smolen & Joseph Donitzen, and several nieces and nephews.
Private Interment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum.
