Obituary of Lucienne R. Jenners

Lucienne R. Jenners, 95, of Syracuse, passed away on April 2, 2020 with her family by her side. She is survived by nine children: Joseph III, Lynne, John, Lorraine, James, Jules, Lisa, Leslie and Jeffrey. She was pre-deceased by her husband Joseph Jr. in 1985 and her eldest daughter Lucienne in 1981. Lucienne is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. As a young girl Lucienne survived the Nazi invasion of her native Belgium during World War II. After the war she worked for US forces in Germany, where she met and married Joseph Jr. from New Jersey. Eventually, with 5 children, they moved from Europe to N.J. and later to Syracuse, where she became a US citizen and also gave birth to 5 more children over the years. Lucienne also loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Sunday dinners were one of her specialties. She was employed by Bristol-Myers and later at Chappell’s Dept. Stores for many years and from where she eventually retired. Lucienne was a communicant of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir. In addition she volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Lucienne was truly loved by her friends and family alike. A private service was held on April 8, 2020.
