I met Ernie nearly 50 years ago. He was an ardent student in the Commercial Pilot program at Sair Aviation where I was Chief Flight instructor. He would love to visit in between lessons and just talk about flying, He was the owner of his own aircraft, a Cessna Cardinal. He was a member of a fraternal group of pilots, The Quiet Birdmen.
