Among the last words my brother Ed said to me were "How are you? But these words didn't come easily as his voice was all but gone and he could hardly gather enough breath to even whisper. And with my poor hearing, he had to mouth these three words several times before I understood them till I answered "I'm just fine". His concern for me was typical of my 91-years-with-him as my brother. I was blessed from the start. He was always there for me and I am blessed knowing that our strong bond is eternal -- and will be - in heaven as it was on earth. Goodnight, Burk. P.S. I'm feeling just fine.

Couldn't have asked for a better man to be my grandfather. He was always thinking of others. He was the kindest gentlest person that I've ever known and he will be missed very much. So glad to have had him in my life and the lives of my husband and Children.

Ed was and is the greatest. He was my only uncle who truly cared about me. He was a light and and a rock and he carried a calmness of peace with him always. Over the years he would call me to see how I was doing. He called me in the last few years just about every day when I was getting my hips replaced an especially when I was going through dark moments when my wife was in respiratory coma for months. He would call me every single day , no matter what to ask about Mary and encourage me in my walk. He never complained about his problems or his needs he was just concerned about what I was going through. When I saw him I felt a sense of peace because of demeanor. He also took life calmly without judgement. He was a rock who was always around with his sense of perseverance even to the end he was a light of peace and acceptance to his circumstances and his eternal destiny. I love you and thank you and thank you for being the inspiration that you " are". Love ..... Gary Burgmeier

Read the obituary and immediately remembered back all those years ago when my Mom & Dad (Tony & Margaret) & I would visit Uncle Bill at his restaurant in Canastota & some holidays at their house on Hasbrouck. Mom & Dad are both gone, as well as the many others now but I do remember all the fun. When I visit Dad's grave at assumption, I walk down to Bill & Dorothy's grave too. My sympathy to Eddie's family & the Saulle family.
